ICOM is a responsible member of North America’s marketing community and has taken a leading role in the industry with respect to consumer privacy. Evolving with the ever changing privacy landscape, ICOM has worked in cooperation with the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) and regulatory agencies in an attempt to ensure that ICOM’s information practices comply with all US Federal and State privacy laws and Canadian privacy law. A brief summary of ICOM’s comprehensive information practices, that are consistently reviewed and updated, is set out below.
ICOM’s approach to privacy is driven by our overall consumer objective – to develop a strong relationship with consumers who voluntarily respond to surveys and provide information in exchange for relevant and valued products and services. Our marketing purpose in collecting such data is clearly identified in each ICOM survey circulated to consumers before they voluntarily choose to respond. Consumer choice not to participate in our programs is consistently honored.
Should a consumer have any questions about the collection, use or disclosure of their data, our Consumer Care group is both open to any inquiries and accountable for its policies and practices. Our Consumer Care group is responsive to consumer requests regarding the use of their data and ICOM’s consumer privacy policy and supporting information is available at www.shoppers-voice.com The policy describes our information practices as they relate to three broad areas:
At ICOM, data is subject to physical, electronic and process measures to protect its security. Internally, our employees are provided with on-going training and guidance regarding our privacy policy and practice. Our policies provide employees with guidelines for decision-making about what we can and cannot do with consumer data. Externally, we work with our customers to establish controls and criteria for on-going protection of consumer’s privacy. These criteria include contractual restrictions on the use of the data and obligations to adhere to our privacy policy and practice standards.
