As President and CEO of ICOM Information & Communications L.P., Catherine McIntyre oversees all facets of the company. Under her leadership ICOM manages the largest permission-based consumer lifestyle and behavioral database in North America, as well as the most broadly used multi-brand direct mail sample and coupon program. ICOM has grown to over 300 employees, serving the top 8 health/pharmaceutical; 16 of the top 20 Consumer Packaged Goods companies and more than 25% of the Fortune 500 US companies.
An acknowledged expert in direct marketing, database analytics, opt-in and privacy issues, Catherine is a frequently requested speaker at North American marketing conferences and has been quoted in magazines including DM News, Marketing, Brand Marketing, Strategy, HRPAO Magazine and Direct Marketing News. Catherine is a Board member and past Executive Committee member of the US Direct Marketing Association (DMA), as well as chair to the DMA’s Ethics, Privacy and Social Responsibility sub-committee and is the Board liaison for the launch of the DMA’s new Research Institute.
Catherine joined ICOM in 1995 as part of the senior team leading ICOM’s expansion into the US. She went on to hold a variety of executive positions including Human Resources Director, Director of Sales, Vice President of Sales and Client Services before being named President in 2002.
From 1985-1995, Catherine worked at Procter & Gamble (P&G) in brand management and human resources. During this time, she developed a broad understanding of business operations through her cross functional experience including marketing, sales, product development and IT. In 1994, Catherine led a team of professors to design a start-up business school program for Humber College while she taught the marketing and business strategy courses. She holds a B.B.A in Marketing and Organizational Behaviour from York University in Toronto.
